Powersville
 
A small village settled in 1830, and located near the center of Bracken County, 3.5 miles from Brooksville, the county seat, and 15 from Augusta, on the Ohio River, its nearest shipping point.  It contains a saw and a grist mill, Christian church, and common school, and exports tobacco, wheat, and corn. Stage to Milford and Augusta.  Semi-weekly mail.  Population 80. F. T. Ingean, postmaster
