Joseph A. Link, Jr.
was born in Cincinnati in 1847, and came to Dayton in 1852. After
attending the public schools, he was engaged in rope-making with his
father, and later had a ropewalk above Berry avenue, continuing in the
business for many years. He has been elected city assessor four times in
succession, and has done well in that office.
The GAR (a short history of the organization is
here) held
it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898. All of the
Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared
for the occasion.
