Dr. J. R. Yungblut, head of the family, was born in Ohio in 1835.  For many years he was a successful druggist in Newport, but is now retired.

Charles W. Yungblut was born in Newport, in 1868; graduated in the public schools; graduated at the Cincinnati Law School in 1890, and he began practice.  He was elected city attorney of Dayton in 1893, and reelected in 1897 by a council equally divided politically, and with the casting vote on the other side - a high testimony to the young lawyer's ability and faithfulness.
