Dutton J. Hewetson came to Dayton from Newport in 1884.  He was elected to council in March, 1889, and has been re-elected at each election since.  He is a member of  Joe Hooker Post, No. 16, G.A.R., Henry Barnes Lodge, No. 607, F. & A. M. and Dora Chapter, No. 9, Order of the Eastern Star, and has filled various offices in these organizations.  Mr. Hewetson was with DeCamp, Levoy & Co., of Cincinnati, for twenty-six years, until the dissolution of the firm in 1897.  He is now in the real estate and insurance business in Dayton.  He was a member of company "E" Eighth Kentucky Cavalry, from Newport, and afterwards in the Second Ohio Cavalry, up tot he close of the civil war.
