T. A. Casey [a "commercial merchant"] was born and reared in Cincinnati, going to the public schools
and ending with Woodward. During the civil war he was sergeant major of
the One Hundred and Forty-fifth Indiana Volunteers, having removed to that
state. He came to Dayton in 1878 and fixed his residence here. He has
served two terms in council, and one term as president. Mr. Casey is
thoroughly interested in Dayton and her welfare.
The GAR (a short history of the organization is
here) held
it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898. All of the
Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared
for the occasion.
