Fred Gerrein, whose handsome Sixth avenue residence is shown here, is a
well known building contractor, [a stone mason] whose work is to be seen in many of the
better class buildings about the city. His work is not confined to
Dayton, however, but extends to different parts of the State where large
and fine work is in progress. The residence here shown he built for his
own occupancy, and everything in it is to suit the taste of a man who
knows about buildings.
The GAR (a short history of the organization is
here) held
it's annual encampment in Dayton in September,1898. All of the
Dayton images and texts dated 1898 are from the souvenir booklet prepared
for the occasion.
