History
of Ten Mile |
| |
|
I'm pleased to reproduce here a small
20 page history published by the Ten Mile Church on the occasion of its
centennial. The publisher was the Baptist Book Concern of
Louisville, and the date is 1904. The author is the pastor at the time
of the centennial, Rev. Lafayette Johnson, although he only refers to
himself as "L. Johnson" in the text.

Persons interested in Gallatin County
history should take special note of Rev. David Lillard. The man's
accomplishments made him almost legendary in his own time, and the
argument could certainly be made that no man has ever had a greater
influence on the citizenry of Gallatin County.

This is the complete text of the
book, including pictures, and the captions on those pictures. The
chapter headings are mine, to break up the look of the text.
