Owen Hulett, born March 28, 1874, at LaGrange, Ky.; at an early age his
parents moved to Burlington, where the son received a common school
education. When Owen was 15 years of age his mother moved to
Williamstown, the father having died previously, and Owen entered the
Williamstown Graded School but did not graduate. He entered Glascock's
store as a salesman. In 1896 he began business for himself as a grocerman
in Williamstown. He followed that business for 2 years, then became
supervisor of the Covington & Lexington Turnpike in Grant Co. and
continued as such until the pike was sold to the county some two years
ago. Last November Mr. Hulett bought out the stock of the Musselman
store, and now he has a fine stock.
Mr. Hulett was
married September 15, 1896 to Miss Anise Clark, eldest daughter of W. T.
Clark and Belle, his wife. One child has been born to them, a boy. Mr.
Hulett is a democrat.
His two clerks in
his general hardware store and 5 and 10 cent store are Arthur Thompson and
Harry Matthews.
