Visalia

Visalia was named after a man named Nathaniel Vice (Vise?) and his brother John, who lived in Campbell County, on the west bank of the Licking, in 1800.  Visalia was then a part of Campbell County, and was even the Campbell County Seat for a few years.

Nathaniel later moved to California, where the city of Visalia, California is named for his old town of Visalia Kentucky.  Visalia, California has a population of 92,473 in 2000, and is about half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
