	Casey Stengel in Maysville


	In 1910, Casey Stengel, whose contract was owned by Kansas City, was assigned to the Class D Shelbyville (Kentucky) Blues, in the Bluegrass League. In August of 1910, the Shelbyville ball club folded, and was purchased by a plumber from Maysville, and became the Maysville Colts. Stengel hit .269 in 69 games that season, and was called up by the Kansas City team at the end of the season, where he got into three games. He played Class C in 1911, with an Aurora, Illinois team. You don't have to take my word for it that Stengel played in Maysville. You can, to quote a certain Baseball Hall of Famer, look it up.
