Owenton, the county seat, 4 and a half miles from Glencoe, on the L. C.
& L. R. R. [Louisville, Cincinnati, and Lexington Rail Road, a.k.a.
the Short Line], it's nearest shipping point, and 75 from
Louisville. It contains a Baptist Church and a high school.
