A note on sources                        
You'll note there are no election results prior to 1824.  That's because Kentucky was virtually all Democratic in that period, and besides, we found no actual results.  
The bulk of this material is from a classic on the subject, Jasper B. Shannon and Ruth McQuown's Presidential Politics in Kentucky, 1824 - 1948.  It's a wonderful  
source, but it stops in 1948 (it was published in 1950).  Results from 1976 forward can be found on the web site: http://www.elect.ky.gov/results/, which
is the Kentucky Secretary of State's web site.
