
| In March, 1910, some intrepid soul decided to take pictures of virtually every block of 9th, from Liberty in the west end, across York and Monmouth, to Overton, where he turned North, and continued to take photos. He also took pictures of the alleys of Mansion Hill, a few from 2nd Street, and a selection of Lexington Avenue. An odd collection to be sure. Why? Beats us. Enjoy. | Nick Rechtin notes that there are lots of pipes laying along 9th in many, but not all, of the pictures below. Some sort of documentation of what the streets looked like before laying the pipes? Again, not sure. |
