Day House, at Pike and Banklick-Sts., Will Soon Be Dismantled

One of the oldest landmarks in Covington, known as the Day House, and located at the corner of Pike and Banklick-sts., will soon be a thing of the past.  Forty years ago the place was known throughout Kentucky as the Drover's Inn, when droves of cattle, hogs, and turkeys were brought here to be disposed of in Cincinnati. When the Southern Railroad opened the stockyards passed out of existence.  At one time the property was valued at $40,000.  A handsome residence will be built on the site.
